Senior SEO Specialist, International Markets

Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior SEO Specialist to drive organic search execution across key international markets, with Germany as a core market, alongside the UK, ANZ, and select Tier 2 markets including India and Singapore.

This role delivers content and technical SEO programs across its markets while helping Zendesk adapt to AI-powered, answer-first discovery. The ideal candidate combines strong international SEO and AEO expertise with technical depth, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience using AI-powered automations and agentic workflows to scale execution.

This is a senior individual contributor role requiring independent execution, strong prioritization, sound judgment, and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

International SEO & AEO Strategy

• Execute and contribute to SEO and AEO strategy across Germany, the UK, ANZ, and select Tier 2 markets, tracking visibility, traffic, MQLs, and pipeline influence.
• Develop market-specific recommendations based on search demand, customer intent, competitive dynamics, business priorities, and emerging AI-discovery behavior.
• Lead German-language organic work, including keyword and intent analysis, SERP and competitive analysis, content opportunities, and evaluation of localized content quality.
• Surface and prioritize content opportunities, working with Content, Localization, Regional Marketing, and Product Marketing to improve organic visibility, topical authority, AI retrieval, citations, and recommendations.
• Plan and execute SEO/AEO experiments, document learnings, and help scale successful approaches across markets.

Technical SEO, AI & Automation

• Maintain technical SEO health across assigned markets, including crawling, rendering, indexing, internal linking, site architecture, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and discoverability.
• Conduct technical audits and translate findings into prioritized recommendations, partnering with Web and Engineering through implementation and QA.
• Assess SEO and AI-discovery implications of page launches, site changes, localization, JavaScript/rendering, and structured data implementation.
• Develop and improve AI-powered automations and agentic workflows that scale research, content optimization, localization, technical analysis, QA, monitoring, and reporting.
• Identify repetitive processes that can be automated and prototype solutions using LLMs, agents, APIs, workflow automation platforms, scripting, or similar technologies, with appropriate human review and quality controls.

Analytics & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Analyze performance using GA4, Google Search Console, Snowflake, industry-standard SEO tools, and AEO platforms such as Profound.
• Measure performance across traditional search and AI-powered discovery, including visibility, citation share, retrieval, recommendation share, and competitive movement.
• Connect organic performance to business outcomes and translate data into clear priorities, recommendations, and next steps.
• Act as an SEO/AEO partner for assigned markets, collaborating across Content, Web, Engineering, Product Marketing, Analytics, Localization, Regional Marketing, and Paid Media.
• Communicate complex SEO, technical, and AEO insights clearly and influence roadmap priorities through data-driven recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in SaaS or enterprise environments.
• Professional fluency in German and English, with the ability to independently evaluate German-language search behavior, SERPs, intent, content quality, and competitive positioning.
• Demonstrated experience executing both content and technical SEO, including crawling, indexing, rendering, internal linking, structured data, and JavaScript SEO.
• Hands-on experience with AEO and AI-powered discovery, including optimizing for visibility, citations, retrieval, and recommendations across LLMs and answer engines.
• Experience managing SEO across multiple countries, languages, or regional markets.
• Hands-on experience applying AI-powered automations or agentic workflows using LLMs, agents, APIs, workflow automation tools, scripting, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with GA4, Google Search Console, Snowflake or similar data platforms, and industry-standard SEO/AEO tools.
• Strong experience running experiments, prioritizing competing opportunities, and independently driving initiatives from diagnosis through execution and measurement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated cross-functional influence.

The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł165,000.00-zł247,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.
