Job Description:
This job is responsible for working on the least complex technical designs that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. This job facilitates deployment of technical solution by developing templates, playbooks, and automation used during implementation and consistently looking for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of implementing services. Overview:
This role provides critical engineering support for the DDCS (Database Data Collection Scanner) and ENVentory (Database Inventory System of Origin) applications within the Database Services organization under Global Technology – Core Technology Infrastructure. These internally developed applications enable deep metadata discovery for the bank’s mid range databases and expose this metadata to AIT owners, database administrators, and general users through a web based user interface. The data supports day to day operations, database governance and compliance metrics, and data reconciliation with ServiceNow, the system of record.
Responsibilities:
- Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies, contributing to the technology strategy for end-to-end engineering solutions and providing feedback to the architecture teams
- Follows reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure the design is compliant
- Assists in translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
- Assists Technical Analysts by ensuring system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
- Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes
- Supports an inclusive and healthy working environment
- Provide engineering (design and development) support for DDCS and ENVentory Applications
- Work with Operations teams to assist with issues root cause analysis
- Partner with Database engineering and Operations teams to improve stability, reliability and introduce new capabilities
- Attend Daily stand-ups
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years hands on experience with application development and Web development, Java, Spring boot, Spring microservices, Autosys
- Experience using shared storage and load balancer for application resiliency
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Linux/Unix environments and very experienced with scripting languages such as Shell/Python
- Experience using monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, DNT) to assess application and environment health
- Hands on experience troubleshooting application production issues
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Agile delivery environment, including participation in sprint planning, daily stand ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Minimum 3 years hands on experience writing complex SQL queries (SQL / Oracle PLSQL) and strong knowledge of advanced database concepts
- Experience in implementing Inventory and Entitlement controls
- Asset Management - ServiceNow / MDH domain knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changing priorities and demands
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of complex production issues
- Strong experience in automation of container image builds, testing, and deployment to OpenShift
