15 month fixed term contract, 35 hours per week, £20,475 per annum.

What you'll be doing: 

You'll support the delivery of reliable, secure and effective IT services while developing the skills needed for a successful career in IT: 

  • Providing first-line technical support to colleagues across the Trust 

  • Assisting with the setup, configuration and maintenance of computers, mobile devices, software and printers 

  • Supporting the IT helpdesk by logging, updating and resolving support tickets 

  • Learning how to diagnose and troubleshoot routine technical issues 

  • Supporting user account administration and system access requests 

  • Maintaining accurate IT records, documentation and asset information 

  • Following cyber security, data protection and information governance requirements 

  • Developing your knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows devices and workplace technologies 

  • Applying the learning from your apprenticeship qualification in a real-world environment 

  • Working collaboratively with the IT team to deliver excellent customer service 

What could this lead to? 

While not guaranteed, many apprentices go on to permanent roles with St Monica Trust. Even if that isn't what you're looking for, you'll finish with: 

  • A recognised Level 3 IT qualification 

  • Valuable workplace experience in a professional IT environment 

  • Practical technical skills that employers value

  • Experience supporting digital systems within a large, values-led organisation 

What we're looking for: 

  • A genuine interest in IT, technology and digital problem solving 

  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly 

  • A willingness to learn, develop and build a career in IT 

  • An organised approach with good attention to detail 

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows devices and common workplace applications 

  • The ability to follow processes, maintain accurate records and work safely 

  • A patient and helpful approach when supporting users with varying levels of digital confidence 

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative when appropriate 

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or willingness to achieve the required Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship)
