What you'll do...
Role summary:The Lead Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, oversees and guides associates in maintaining high-quality exterior facility standards. This role involves supervising work assignments, ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies, and managing landscaping, seasonal maintenance, and equipment upkeep. The position requires expertise in horticulture, machinery operation, and regulatory adherence while fostering team development through coaching and performance monitoring. The Lead Technician collaborates with management to implement improvements, control costs, and maintain safe, efficient facility environments that support organizational goals and customer satisfaction.
About the team:
The Facility Services team ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of food equipment and related facilities to support daily business functions. They conduct routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance while managing schedules and coordinating with contractors to uphold safety and compliance standards. Utilizing technical expertise, the team promptly diagnoses and resolves equipment issues, fostering operational continuity. Committed to quality service and a safe work environment, the team plays a crucial role in supporting Walmart’s business success through proactive maintenance and effective communication.
What you'll do:
- Supervise and support associates by assigning duties, providing feedback, and monitoring performance to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Train and coach associates on company policies, procedures, and compliance with external regulations.
- Manage landscaping and exterior maintenance tasks, including plant care, pest control, and seasonal activities such as snow and ice management.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety and proper documentation.
- Coordinate equipment purchases, maintenance, and inventory to optimize operational efficiency and cost control.
- Lead teams to meet business priorities, promote continuous improvement, and uphold company values.
What you'll bring:
- Proven leadership experience supervising and developing associates in a facility services environment.
- Strong knowledge of landscape management, horticulture methods, and exterior maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
- Expertise in enforcing safety standards and regulatory compliance, including OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience managing budgets, procurement, and inventory for tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Proficient in leveraging technology to complete work orders and maintain accurate records.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Ability to to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and ability to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass a motor vehicle report.
No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
