Security Officer

Schedule: Friday - Sunday | 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
 

Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer for a weekend evening assignment in Grand Junction. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment through regular patrols, customer assistance, communication with staff, and professional handling of security concerns.

The ideal candidate is approachable, attentive, and capable of communicating effectively with customers and employees. The ability to remain calm and respectful while addressing difficult situations is essential.
 

Key Responsibilities

Patrol & Site Awareness

• Conduct routine foot patrols throughout designated interior areas.
• Inspect exterior areas surrounding the assigned location.
• Maintain a consistent and professional security presence.
• Watch for suspicious behavior, safety concerns, property damage, or unusual activity.
• Identify potential issues and communicate them promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all assigned post orders and established procedures.
   

Customer & Staff Support

• Provide courteous customer service when assistance is requested.
• Communicate professionally with customers, employees, and other authorized individuals.
• Assist store personnel with security-related concerns as needed.
• Help promote a safe and comfortable environment throughout the assignment.
• Use patience and professionalism when responding to questions or complaints.
• Maintain positive working relationships with designated staff.
   

De-Escalation & Incident Response

• Address minor disturbances using calm, respectful communication.
• Apply appropriate verbal de-escalation techniques when dealing with frustrated or upset individuals.
• Recognize when a situation requires assistance from a supervisor or emergency responder.
• Respond to security concerns according to established procedures.
• Maintain composure and sound judgment during unexpected situations.
   

Reports & Communication

• Complete accurate daily activity reports.
• Document incidents, unusual activity, and relevant security observations.
• Provide timely information to supervisors and designated staff.
• Ensure reports are factual, clear, and completed according to company requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding security-related information.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to consistently work Friday through Sunday during the scheduled hours.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with members of the public.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Ability to remain calm during challenging interactions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security experience.
• Retail, customer service, or public-facing experience.
• Experience handling difficult customer interactions.
• Familiarity with incident reporting and daily activity documentation.
• Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• Previous experience working independently with limited supervision.
