Job Description Summary

You will be a Global Commodity manager responsible to lead a global direct material commodity team and also have an expanded role as the operations leader for the Blades CoE. You will lead a group of commodity leaders and be responsible to lead the effort to standardize work across the blades team. This role will also work closely with the blade commodity leaders to ensure the blade strategy for GE Vernova is optimized and make vs. buy decisions are evaluated for total impact on SQDC and coordinated across the business functions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • In this role you will manage a team which will define and execute a portion of the multiyear global blade direct material strategy for the internal blade factories.  You and your team will lead negotiations with external blade suppliers and own the Terms and Conditions in the supply agreements.
  • As the Operations Manager you will be responsible to implement standard work with the blades team and ensure it aligns with the broader GEV WIND sourcing team’s standard work.  The standard work will include but not be limited to the Cost Handbook roll ups, PPV and YOY metrics, and alignment on pipeline projects.  This role will have input and responsibility to maintain the Bowler for the team. 
  • You and your team will closely align with the internal blade factory leadership team to ensure there is standard work developed to allow for make vs buy decisions which align to the GE Vernova business strategy. 
  • Your team will drive cost out projects with suppliers and cross functional teams targeted at achieving annual budgets and year over year savings.  Your team will engaging cross functional participation in Kaizens and focused workouts to prioritize safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Your team will partner with suppliers, internal factories, and the engineering and materials teams to drive innovative cost out and increased output and supply flexibility utilizing standard work to track projects. 
  • The team will manage and implement standard work for cost out programs including engineering changes, material changes, and additional material supply sources.
  • Maintain supply base that adheres to quality and fulfillment requirements.  Lead team to support balanced scorecard and supplier improvement processes as needed.
  • Expected to lead others to find creative solutions to address complex problems that may impact the organization. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business solutions to leaders in functional area. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and will negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, college or equivalent knowledge or experience.
  • Significant experience in Supply Chain, Commodity Management, or Product Management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required, estimated at 20% for negotiation with suppliers, supply chain risk mitigation, and identifying additional supply opportunities.

The base pay range for this position is $149,400.00 -248,900.00 USD Annual.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. 

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
