Our client is a growing organisation operating within the logistics and container handling sector. They are seeking a Container Equipment Operator to support their expanding operations within a busy terminal environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Reach Stacker Operator / Container Equipment Operator to join the operations team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the safe movement, loading, unloading and storage of shipping containers within the terminal environment.

Previous reach stacker experience is advantageous but not essential, with training and certification available for suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate reach stacker equipment for the movement and storage of shipping containers.
• Handle 20ft, 40ft and 45ft containers safely and efficiently.
• Operate counterbalance forklift equipment as required.
• Assist with container yard activities and general terminal operations.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and safety checks.
• Follow all site Health & Safety procedures.
• Work closely with operations personnel to support vessel and container activities.
• Support loading, unloading and cargo handling operations.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping within operational areas.

Candidate Profile

• Experience operating forklifts, plant machinery, yard equipment or heavy vehicles.
• Experience within logistics, warehousing, transport, construction, agriculture or port operations would be advantageous.
• Strong focus on safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, flexible and team-oriented approach.
• Full driving licence desirable.
• Previous reach stacker experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Willingness to undertake training and certification.

Training & Development

Training and certification will be provided for the right candidate.

There is also an opportunity to gain specialist container-handling qualifications.
