Job Description
Role Summary
The China Experience Audio and Signal Processing Engineer applies deep technical expertise to customer-facing engagements in China, supporting unique solution development, regional execution, and effective collaboration across engineering teams and market stakeholders.
This role serves as a critical link between China-based customer expectations and Bose’s global and regional technical capabilities, helping translate market needs into relevant feature solutions, strengthen customer confidence, and enable aligned execution across the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Technical Advising
Support technical engagement with China-based customers during opportunity development and program execution.
Help interpret customer audio expectations, technical requirements, and market-specific needs for internal teams.
Provide audio engineering input to support evaluations, prototyping, discussions, and issue resolution with customers and partners.
Represent engineering perspectives in customer-facing discussions while aligning with overall business and program objectives.
Coordination & Execution
Coordinate with global engineering teams to ensure customer needs and regional inputs are clearly understood and addressed.
Support communication between China-based stakeholders and internal product development teams across time zones and functions.
Assist with technical follow-up, issue tracking, and coordination needed to maintain program momentum and customer confidence.
Contribute to regional insight sharing to improve technical responsiveness and solution relevance in the China market.
Decision Rights:
The China Exp AE is accountable for:
Technical recommendations related to audio engineering considerations for China-based customer engagements.
Escalation of customer technical issues, risks, and concerns requiring cross-functional support.
Prioritization of engineering support needs in alignment with program timing and customer expectations.
The China Exp AE provides input and recommendations on customer communication strategy, technical issue resolution, and coordination priorities, while final business, commercial, and contractual decisions remain with the appropriate leadership and program teams.
Core Deliverables:
Customer & Technical Engagement
Technical support for customer meetings, evaluations, and regional engineering discussions.
Clear communication of customer requirements, concerns, and priorities to internal teams.
Engineering input to support issue analysis, solution discussions, and customer follow-up.
Develop and deliver proof-of-concepts and prototypes that address China-specific needs, while ensuring strong internal communication and awareness that may lead to global platform adoption of the solution.
Coordination & Program Support
Coordination of technical follow-ups and actions between customer teams and internal stakeholders.
Regional support for issue tracking, communication, and program execution readiness.
Input that improves responsiveness, alignment, and execution effectiveness for China-based opportunities and programs.
Market Insight & Collaboration
Regional market and customer insights shared with engineering and program teams.
Strong collaboration across customer teams, regional stakeholders, and global engineering functions.
Support for continuous improvement in technical engagement and execution practices in the region.
Key Competencies:
Technical Audio and Signal Processing Expertise - Demonstrates strong audio and signal processing engineering knowledge and the ability to apply technical expertise effectively in customer-facing, short-cycle situations. Demonstrable experience in implementing and tuning audio blocks like filters, limiters, upmixer, as well as good knowledge on psychoacoustics.
Communication & Influence – Communicates clearly across cultures and functions, builds trust with stakeholders, and helps drive alignment without direct authority.
Execution & Regional Agility – Operates with urgency, responsiveness, and sound judgment in fast-moving regional customer and development environments.
Required Experience & Education
Experience in audio engineering, signal processing in Simulink and embedded implementation, acoustic tuning, or related automotive audio development activities.
Experience working with customers, suppliers, or cross-functional engineering teams in a technical role.
Ability to support communication and coordination across regions, functions, and cultural contexts.
Experience identifying technical issues, supporting resolution, and maintaining execution momentum.
Preferred Experience - Experience supporting China-based customers or programs; familiarity with regional market expectations; and bilingual communication capability in Chinese and English.
Education:
Master of Science in Acoustics, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
Advanced degree preferred.
