About The Position
Ameren Missouri delivers electric and natural gas service to residential, commercial, and industrial customers across Missouri. Employees support the safe, reliable, and affordable delivery of energy through operations in power generation, electric and gas distribution, engineering, technology, and business operations. Available Opportunities:
January-August 2027 Spring Co-Op
Co-Ops will participate in meaningful work activities related to data analytics, reporting, dataset creation, dashboard development, database and data warehouse queries and scripts, data integration, and analysis that helps stakeholders understand their operations and make informed decisions. Co-Ops are assigned a mentor that will guide you through your Co-Op. Coaching and feedback are a key part of your experience. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented, experienced analytics staff while completing your work assignments. You will get exposure to the following technologies:
- Programming Platforms: Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI, and Databricks
- Tools: SQL, Python, SAS, relational databases, and data warehouses
The Co-Op program provides students with valuable work experience as well as providing Ameren with a source of highly talented candidates for full-time positions.
Qualifications
Current student status pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or an equivalent computer-related field from an accredited college or university required. A GPA of 2.5 or above is required.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Basic knowledge of data visualization, relational databases, writing queries (SQL), and programming or scripting with tools such as Python
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel, including creating reports, spreadsheets, formulas, lookup tables, graphical analysis, and interpreting tables
- Interest in building, maintaining, and supporting dashboards, reporting models, datasets, and analytics applications such as Power BI
- Ability to organize, integrate, and analyze large quantities of data from multiple sources
- Working analytical skills to address business problems, identify trends, and generate actionable insights
- Ability to document data requirements and work with business users to understand the goal of a project or analysis
- Good time management and prioritization skills, including the ability to clarify priorities, scope, and requirements in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and partner with team members and departments to achieve the best results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate analysis, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly
- Creative problem solving, proactive learning, and a detail-oriented approach to producing polished outputs
- Familiarity with Databricks, data warehouses, cloud data platforms, or similar modern data engineering environments (preferred)
- Experience with data analytics software and visualization tools (preferred)
- Project management principles such as scope, deliverables, timeline, and cost/benefit analysis (preferred)
- Data science methodologies and processes (preferred)
