INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE AND PROJECTS SUPERINTENDENT
ABOUT US
FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Infrastructure Maintenance and Projects Superintendent.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Infrastructure Maintenance and Projects Superintendent is responsible for leading the maintenance of site infrastructure and the delivery of minor capital and infrastructure projects during the construction, commissioning and operational phases of the Greenfield gold mining project.
The role ensures site infrastructure, including roads, buildings, camp facilities, water and power reticulation, and civil structures, is maintained to a high standard to support safe and reliable operations.
The incumbent will establish infrastructure maintenance systems and project delivery processes, coordinate contractor works, and drive continuous improvement using industry best practice.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring operational readiness of site infrastructure and utilities ahead of plant commissioning and throughout the life of the operation.
- Develop maintenance plans for roads, buildings, camp facilities, potable and raw water systems, sewage treatment and power distribution infrastructure; coordinate infrastructure maintenance schedules and prioritise work based on risk and criticality; maintain the infrastructure asset register and supporting maintenance documentation; ensure infrastructure maintenance work is planned to minimise disruption to site operations.
- Manage minor capital and infrastructure projects including scope, budget and schedule; coordinate contractors engaged for infrastructure construction and maintenance works; ensure project handover documentation, as-built drawings and close-out reports are completed; support the Project Engineering team with infrastructure-related project delivery.
- Oversee civil inspections of the tailings storage facility and associated infrastructure; coordinate maintenance of roads, haul roads, drainage and erosion control structures; monitor the structural integrity of site buildings and facilities.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant and sewage treatment facilities; coordinate maintenance of power reticulation and backup generation infrastructure; oversee fuel storage and dispensing infrastructure maintenance and compliance.
- Assist with preparation of the annual infrastructure maintenance and projects budget; monitor infrastructure maintenance and project expenditure against budget; manage contractor performance, cost and productivity for infrastructure works; coordinate procurement of infrastructure materials with Supply Chain.
- Promote Zero Harm principles across all infrastructure maintenance and project activities; ensure infrastructure works comply with statutory safety requirements and environmental regulations; participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development, Permit to Work processes, safety inspections and risk assessments; support incident investigations where required; develop effective working relationships with Processing Operations, Maintenance teams, Supply Chain, Contractors, Project Engineers and the HSE Department.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Background:
Holds a National Diploma or Degree in in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant trade certificate with equivalent experience. A Project Management Certification is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in infrastructure maintenance or project delivery within a mining environment.
- Previous experience in a Greenfield mining project or construction environment (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and civil/infrastructure works.
- Experience with water and power utilities infrastructure (desirable).
