Engineering Software Specialist

Description:

As an Engineering Software Specialist with Fluke Electronics, you will be tasked with supporting engineering software in the EMEA and APAC regions. This consists of MCAD, ECAD and software development tools. The users we support are Electrical, Mechanical and Software Engineers with applications like Cadence, Creo, Jira, GitHub and Oracle PLM. Being part of a global team, this role will require weekly collaboration with the rest of the Engineering Services team located in the US and Canada.

Our team is light on processes so we can get things done faster. We look at how to automate our work and make other engineers more efficient. A significant amount of time is spent implementing automations with python, docker, web services and more recently AI Agents. You will be empowered to make decisions, drive improvements, and have plenty of opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities:

• Onboard and offboard software suppliers.
• Renew licenses for engineering software.
• Assist users with application installations.
• Automate installation and upgrade of engineering applications.
• Identify and drive engineering systems improvements.
• Create, maintain and improve software customizations and system integrations.
• Implement cloud and on-premises solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Software, Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
• Experience using CAD systems in professional or school settings.
• Scripting experience in python.
• Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving methodology.
• Ability to work autonomously.

Nice-to-Have:

• Knowledge of AI agent-based solutions.
• Knowledge of Docker.
• Experience using Linux.
• Experience in SKILL (a LISP-y/C-ish language)
