Description

Since 2004, we’ve been bringing investment ideas to life and connecting capital with the right people and opportunities. Today, we manage more than £2.5 billion for a broad range of investors across five key investment strategies: Private Credit, Social Housing, Clean Heat, Energy and Venture. These strategies underpin the innovative range of investments we offer to both private (retail) and institutional clients.

There are 230+ employees at Triple Point, all committed to leaving the world demonstrably better than we found it. That’s why we’re a certified B Corp, signed up to the Principles for Responsible Investment, and were named a Sunday Times 'Best Place to Work  2025 & 2026'.

If this sounds like an environment where you would flourish, then read on…

The Function & Team

The Credit & Risk team sits within the Group Risk & Compliance function and provides independent oversight across the Private Credit platform. Partnering with lending and portfolio management teams throughout the lending lifecycle, the team establishes and maintains the governance, frameworks and oversight that support consistent lending decisions, effective portfolio management and effective restructuring across all of Private Credit's lending strategies.

Credit & Risk team members work collaboratively across credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, restructuring, recoveries and assurance, providing specialist expertise across all of Private Credit's lending strategies.

Key Responsibilities

 Portfolio Review & Risk Identification

  • Assist with, and ultimately take ownership of, portfolio review processes in partnership with portfolio management teams, ensuring early identification of risk and emerging trends across all lending strategies.
  • Exercise delegated authority for non-material credit requests, escalating appropriately where thresholds are exceeded.
  • Contribute to watchlist and early warning indicator processes, flagging deteriorating credits for further action.
  • Contribute case-level input to Lessons Learnt processes, covering challenged cases, watchlist trends and emerging risk themes.

Credit Underwriting Support & Origination Partnership

  • Partner with origination teams to evaluate new lending opportunities, providing credit expertise and challenge at the appropriate stage.
  • Review credit papers ahead of submission from time to time, providing a clear recommendation to Credit Committee members.
  • Build strong working relationships with origination and portfolio management teams to ensure credit input is embedded early and effectively.

Portfolio Reporting & Advisory

  • Prepare and present internal reporting materials on portfolio health, performance and emerging trends for senior stakeholders.
  • Provide ad-hoc credit advisory support to portfolio management teams on existing positions as needed.
  • Contribute portfolio-level insight and findings into wider Credit & Risk reporting.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and help implement improvements to credit processes, frameworks and monitoring tools.
  • Drive efficiency through automation, reporting improvements and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc credit projects and process initiatives where required.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in credit risk, credit analysis or portfolio management within a lending, private credit, or credit advisory environment.
  • Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills, with the ability to review and challenge credit papers and identify key risks.
  • Experience with portfolio monitoring or review processes, including identifying early signs of credit deterioration.
  • Comfortable exercising judgement and holding delegated authority for credit decisions within defined parameters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reporting materials and provide credit recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, build effective relationships across teams, and constructively challenge origination and portfolio management colleagues.

Desirable

  • Specific experience in private credit, alternative lending or direct lending (as opposed to traditional bank lending).
  • Exposure to mid-market/SME lending; familiarity with wholesale lending structures.
  • Experience with watchlist frameworks, early warning indicators, or provisioning/impairment processes.
  • Experience designing or improving credit risk frameworks, monitoring tools or reporting processes.
  • Experience using or implementing AI-enabled tools in a credit or risk context.
  • Familiarity with credit documentation and risk rating tools is advantageous.

Personal Qualities:

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with sound judgement when reviewing credit papers and portfolio data.
  • Confident exercising independent judgement within delegated authority, and clear about when to escalate.
  • A constructive challenger, able to provide credit input and push back on origination or portfolio management colleagues diplomatically but firmly.
  • Collaborative, building strong working relationships across origination, portfolio management and Credit & Risk.
  • Clear communicator, able to distil portfolio trends and risk into reporting that's useful to senior stakeholders.
  • Organised, with the ability to manage multiple portfolio reviews and reporting deadlines concurrently.
  • Curious and proactive, with a genuine interest in improving credit processes rather than just following them.
  • Comfortable with change, particularly given this role is expected to grow in scope and ownership over time.
