Overview
The Sr. Accountant ensures the accuracy of financial records, prepares and analyzes financial reports, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. This role also assists with audits, reconciliations, and special projects to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
- Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
- Ensures Accounts are properly reconciled monthly.
- Assist with special Accounting projects including preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Prepare analysis and summaries of Accounts.
- Assist in assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Support audits, including preparing schedules, coordinating with auditors, and addressing inquiries.
- Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- May supervise clerical staff.
- Contribute to achieving team goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant
- Previous experience with Accounts Payable, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is required.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
