Description

LSI seeks a Resettlement Caseworker to support the resettlement of refugee populations through our Immigrant and Refugee Community Services in our Des Moines service area. Individuals filling this role will be responsible for supporting newly arrived refugee and other eligible newcomer clients throughout the resettlement process and assisting Matching Grant participants in achieving economic self-sufficiency. This position provides comprehensive, client-centered case management and employment services while coordinating with volunteers, community partners, employers, and other service providers to ensure client needs are addressed within required timeframes.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Assist clients with housing, employment, school enrollment, healthcare, transportation, and other resettlement needs.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized plans to support client self-sufficiency.
  • Provide ongoing case management, advocacy, and referrals to community resources.
  • Support Matching Grant participants through employment-focused case management and job placement services.
  • Assist clients with job readiness, employment retention, budgeting, and financial literacy.
  • Transport and accompany clients to appointments and essential services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate case records, reports, and program documentation in compliance with organizational and funder requirements.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with program guidelines and required timelines.
What You'll Need
 
Required: Bachelor's degree in health and human services + 1 year of full time, related health and human services experience. Will also accept equivalent education and experience, including Associates degree + 3 years OR a high school diploma/GED + 5 years of related experience.
 
Qualifying experience includes work in human services, family services, mental health services, public health, nursing, community resource navigation, behavioral health services, work with immigrants and refugees and employment/workforce development experience.
