Position Summary:

 

As an Executive Director of Patient Support & Services, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless access to our products and delivering an excellent patient experience. Your primary focus will be to design, build, and operationalize patient support programs that facilitate patient access, reimbursement support, affordability assistance, adherence services, and patient education. You'll be instrumental in building capabilities from the ground up and ensure launch-ready infrastructure for our upcoming launch in Retina. The role will establish external partnerships and collaborate internally across Access, Field Reimbursement, Trade & Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations / Analytics, Training, Finance, Legal / Compliance and Human Resources.  A strong track record of building scalable capabilities to support future growth and operating in a launch readiness setting is expected.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to support a seamless access experience for patients, care support partners, healthcare providers, and office staff.
  • Lead patient support launch readiness to ensure all capabilities, infrastructure, technology platforms, vendors, processes and reporting are established prior to launch
  • Establish and oversee relationships with hubs, specialty pharmacies, copay administrators and other patient support vendors.
  • Lead patient support vendor selection and ongoing performance management
  • Build an internal team of patient-facing roles to deliver proactive outreach at key milestones in support of product education and adherence
  • Design and manage co-pay, free drug programs and other cost-share reduction programs
  • Design and build patient CRM and data flows; use case-level data to identify bottlenecks and systemic access barriers, ensure data practices comply with HIPAA
  • Establish policies to support effective operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics related to patient starts, reimbursement outcomes, utilization of patient assistance programs, adherence, operational performance, and patient experience
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable healthcare laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies
  • Lead budget planning and financial oversight for patient support programs, vendors, and service models.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency as well as patient and provider experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in patient services, market access, reimbursement, or other related pharmaceutical/biotech functions
  • Minimum 10+ years in a management or leadership role of people or function
  • Significant experience designing and implementing patient support programs in a launch readiness environment
  • Proven track record of scaling capabilities for growth
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with patient services vendors, hub providers, copay program administrators, specialty pharmacies, and other strategic service partners
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership, collaboration and communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude.

 

 

 

 

Salary Range
$330,000$355,000 USD
