Summary

This position is responsible for executing and organizing an accurate inventory management process, for all supplies, medications, and equipment maintenance for CSI Pharmacy. Works closely with pharmacy leaders, Patient Care Coordinators, purchasing and inventory associates, and Accounting to help maintain accuracy and timeliness of vendor and drug data, within the purchasing processes and systems. Responsible for ordering and monitoring needed adjustments of medications and supplies using company software, ensures rotation of medications to avoid expiration, facilitates the return or disposal of expired drugs. This role assists Inventory and Pharmacy leadership to facilitate all aspects of inventory responsibilities including scheduling and coordinating distribution services, material management, equipment management, hazardous waste management, etc. This role’s performance is monitored by available product by days on hand, tracking, documenting, and stocking of all medications, equipment and supplies. Works closely with the facility pharmacy manager, pharmacy production team, Director of Inventory and Procurement, etc. to provide efficient coordination of pharmacy and distribution services. 

Compensation Range: $22 - $28/hr (DOE)

Location: West Chester, OH

Schedule: (On-site) Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Coordinates/performs designated materials management activities including inventory control and surveillance, preparation of purchase orders, placing orders with vendors, receiving incoming orders and maintaining inventory processes.  

  • Assists in orientation and training of new inventory technicians, warehouse team, and pharmacy production team members.  

  • Facilitates purchasing for the site as directed by leadership and standardized days on hand (DOH) par levels.  

  • Accurate tracks and organizes purchase orders with outside vendors, ensures appropriate approvals and ensures association of appropriate documents for accounts payable processing in a timely manner. 

  • Assists CSI’s Pharmacies with purchasing product and maintaining inventory levels, including repositioning drugs and supplies as necessary through site transfers.  

  • Maintains and monitors materials inventories, ensures adequate levels of all medications, supplies, and equipment. Participates in monthly and quarterly inventories.  

  • Documents facility’s inventory and purchasing responsibilities are URAC/ACHC accreditation survey ready. 

  • Enters new medication(s) into dispensing system and coordinates technical entry requirements with appropriate department(s) 

  • Updates and maintains medication(s) in the dispensing system and coordinates technical requirements with appropriate department(s) 

  • Manages equipment tracking and maintenance for pharmacy site. Facilitates equipment pick-up for discharged patients and preventative maintenance (PM) due. 

  • Rotates medications to avoid expiration, identifies expired drugs, and facilitates their return or disposal 

  • Receives, investigates and documents recalls and returns affected product 

  • Watches for drug shortages and adjusts purchasing practices to adapt 

  • Compares prices between multiple suppliers to get best pricing available 

  • Maintains effective working relationship and cooperates with all personnel in the Company. 

  • Adheres to the Company’s compliance requirements as stated in the policy and procedure manual and all other related policies. 

  • Consistently represents the company in a professional manner. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested 

  • Manages/supervises inventory technicians and distribution activities 

  • Process and maintain materials management records and files including purchase orders, receivers, invoices, packing slips, open and closed files. 

  • Reconciles and submits completed and closed purchase orders, gains approval and submits to accounts payable. 

  • Maintains asset control system for tracking owned and rented pumps and other home medical equipment. 

  • Maintains system for scheduling preventative maintenance services and repair services for infusion control devices and coordinates the performance of these services with a qualified biomedical equipment service provider. 

  • Maintains and manages record of ICD's and HME cleaning, routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs. 

  • Coordinates designated hazardous waste management and disposal activities and maintains records as required. 

  • Participates in recruitment and hiring of potential new pharmacy operations personnel. 

  • Follows established channels of authority and communications throughout the organization. 

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma College education or degree desirable. 

  • Certified pharmacy technician.
