Role Summary/Purpose:
The role of the Senior Assistant Legal Operations and Litigation Support is to provide administrative support to AVP, Legal Operations and the Litigation team. The Senior Assistant, Legal Operations and Litigation Support is responsible for working with AVP, Legal Operations with respect to all aspects of the Legal’s supplier management program including onboarding, monitoring and offboarding of Synchrony suppliers. Additionally, the Senior Assistant, Legal Operations and Litigation Support is responsible for working with the Litigation Team to review and implement assignment of new litigation matters, communicate with internal litigation team and outside counsel, coordinate litigation settlement payments, generate settlement-related tax reporting, administer the litigation database for matter management and invoice review, and support for case handling in connection with lawsuits, regulatory inquiries, arbitration matters, threatened litigation, certain escalated customer complaints, and complex subpoenas.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide supplier risk management support to AVP, Legal Operations, including managing supplier relationships throughout the entire lifecycle, partnering with Sourcing, Purchasing and Supplier Risk Management Teams and Subject Matter Experts to execute assigned tasks efficiently.
Partner with Legal supplier owners to deliver on supplier risk management program requirements, leverage reporting to manage and complete assigned supplier relationship tasks, and ensure appropriate documentation for required Supplier Risk Management program is maintained per company requirements.
Manage day to day purchasing and invoice inquires on behalf of suppliers.
Provide support to Synchrony’s Litigation team including all aspects of case handling in connection with lawsuits, regulatory inquiries, arbitration matters, threatened litigation, certain escalated customer complaints, and complex subpoenas.
Ability to manage multiple cases/projects simultaneously and deliver on demanding deadlines with minimal supervision.
Assist litigation case intake and assignment process.
Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of litigation matters to litigation team and to various other functions (operations, compliance, and risk).
Generate year-end settlement reports for 1099 tax reporting and work with the Tax Center of Excellence to finalize information for tax filings.
Coordinate with outside counsel and internal finance team regarding settlement payments and other financial administration.
Coordinate with the internal finance team regarding arbitration fees, litigation settlement contributions and account adjustments.
Meet weekly with the AVP, Legal Operations Manager, Sr. Assistant, Litigation Support and the Legal Executive Administrative Assistant to review, reconcile, and resolve any billing issues with law firm invoices.
Assist with quarterly settlement check accruals.
Serve as the Litigation Database system Administrator.
Maintain litigation records in accordance with policies and procedures.
Generate Legal Hold notices to Synchrony employees at the direction of the Litigation and Commercial counsel.
Generate weekly Legal Hold reports to Synchrony Information Technology teams.
Assist AVP, Legal Operations, Litigation team and outside counsel with document production requests.
Assist with in-person service of process across Synchrony hubs.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to attend the Supplier Manager course and become Supplier Manager certified.
Excel experience for at least 3 years, working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn new applications (T360 and Exterro) with training to serve as application administrator.
Experience with OneFD,
Experience with or ability to learn ACM, I2R and Debt Manager (DM 10), and Content Navigator Production (statements and letters).
Experience with or ability to learn Coupa and SAS Viya.
The hours are US time zones 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday with the willingness to work a flexible schedule including overtime.
Desired Characteristics:

The salary range for this position is 60,000.00 - 112,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.
