Description
Sales Manager - Services
Type: Hybrid | Full-Time
About Our Client
Our client is a well-established industrial solutions provider serving customers across technical, energy, and infrastructure-focused markets. The organization works closely with customers to develop and deliver specialized solutions for complex operational requirements, with an emphasis on reliability, technical expertise, and long-term customer relationships.
This is an opportunity to join a growing organization and play a key role in expanding its presence within an established market. The successful candidate will have significant ownership over territory development, customer relationships, and new business growth across Texas and surrounding U.S. markets.
Key Responsibilities
As the Sales Manager - Services, you will be responsible for generating new revenue and expanding the organization's presence across the Texas oil-and-gas market. This is a hands-on, strategic hunter role for an experienced industry professional who understands how oil-and-gas companies buy equipment and services, evaluate providers, manage field operations, and make capital and operating decisions.
Business Development & Market Development
-
Develop and execute a Texas oil-and-gas business development plan focused on new revenue and customer acquisition.
-
Build and maintain a target-account list across upstream operators, midstream and gathering companies, gas processors, pipeline companies, utilities, EPCs, OEMs, and oilfield service providers.
-
Generate opportunities through disciplined outbound prospecting, industry relationships, referrals, customer visits, trade shows, and technical presentations.
-
Expand the organization's reach beyond existing relationships and reduce reliance on a small number of legacy accounts.
-
Establish and maintain relationships with executives, operations leaders, engineering teams, procurement professionals, maintenance managers, and field personnel.
-
Develop account plans for priority customers and identify opportunities for new products, upgrades, and service-based revenue.
Consultative & Technical Sales
-
Identify customer projects, operating challenges, equipment gaps, asset constraints, and expansion plans before formal procurement decisions are made.
-
Lead technical discovery with customers to understand gas volumes, pressure, temperature control, gas composition, filtration, compression, site constraints, delivery timing, and safety requirements.
-
Translate customer requirements into fit-for-purpose equipment, infrastructure, and service solutions.
-
Conduct customer presentations, site visits, and commercial reviews with both technical and executive stakeholders.
-
Position the organization as an equipment and gas-infrastructure partner rather than a transactional vendor.
-
Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, logistics, and finance to confirm technical feasibility, equipment availability, lead times, cost, and risk.
Sales Execution & Commercial Management
-
Own the complete sales cycle from initial contact through qualification, solution development, proposal, negotiation, contract award, and handoff.
-
Pursue both equipment and recurring-revenue opportunities, including rentals, service agreements, monitoring, spare parts, and mobilization.
-
Develop proposals, pricing inputs, and business cases with internal stakeholders.
-
Negotiate commercial terms within approved authority while protecting revenue, gross margin, risk position, and long-term customer value.
-
Maintain clear opportunity documentation, close plans, and competitive positioning in the CRM.
-
Ensure awarded opportunities transition smoothly to operations and project teams with accurate scope, pricing, and expectations.
Market Intelligence & Customer Partnership
-
Maintain current knowledge of Texas oil-and-gas activity, basin economics, infrastructure trends, and competitor activity.
-
Identify market gaps and opportunities where the organization can expand its customer base and revenue.
-
Represent the organization at industry events, customer meetings, and technical forums.
-
Provide leadership with actionable market intelligence and go-to-market recommendations.
-
Support existing account owners when opportunities require senior commercial leadership.
Internal Collaboration & Performance Management
-
Partner with senior leadership on target-account strategy, pipeline reviews, pricing decisions, and go/no-go decisions.
-
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on product and customer feedback.
-
Partner with marketing on campaigns, case studies, and industry messaging.
-
Deliver regular pipeline, forecast, and performance updates to leadership.
-
Track results against revenue, margin, and retention objectives and proactively address pipeline gaps with corrective action.

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
Education & Experience:
-
10+ years of direct experience in the oil-and-gas industry, energy infrastructure, gas equipment, midstream, gas processing, pipeline, compression, or a closely related technical energy market.

Demonstrated record of personally opening new accounts and winning profitable business.
