The Clinical Informatics Specialist is a strong individual contributor on a specialized team within the Clinical Informatics organization responsible for creating, evaluating, implementing, and maintaining clinical content assets including oncology treatment regimens, data standards, metadata, and other content structures that support the delivery of high-quality clinical content and decision support. Serving as a data steward for assigned standards and content domains, this role ensures the quality, consistency, integrity, and compliance of clinical data assets.

Working under limited direction, the Clinical Informatics Specialist manages standards initiatives, content domains, and project deliverables. The role applies deep subject matter expertise to resolve complex problems, develop standards-based solutions, and provide recommendations within established frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Data Standards Management

• Create, evaluate, maintain, and govern clinical content standards including terminology.
• Independently manage assigned standards, content domains, and standards-related projects.
• Analyze and assess impacts of proposed standards changes and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Ensure content assets align with business, scientific, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Content Governance

• Serve as the data steward and subject matter expert for assigned standards, terminology, content assets, or workflows.
• Support governance processes to ensure quality, consistency, traceability, and compliance of clinical data assets.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex data quality and standards-related issues.
• Participate in content standards review, change management, and approval activities.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Independently resolve diverse and complex content-related challenges using judgment within established policies and practices.
• Evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions for business, operational, and technical issues.
• Identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and process improvement.
• Contribute to best practices that improve scalability, efficiency, and content quality.

Minimum Requirement

• Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills

• 4+ years of experience in clinical data standards, clinical data management, clinical informatics, or related clinical disciplines.
• Experience independently managing complex assignments and delivering results with limited supervision.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining data standards, metadata, terminology, or related content assets.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex content, standards, or data quality issues.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and other cross-functional stakeholders and collaborators.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $92,600 - $154,300
