Job Description Summary

The Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (Penn ADRC) conducts and participates in a wide range of studies and training programs related to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, mild cognitive impairment, cognitive aging, and lifelong brain health. We are seeking a Research and Training Coordinator to run training programs and lead the coordination of an observational study aimed at identifying measures to monitor response to treatment with FDA approved anti-amyloid therapies for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Job Description

This candidate will conduct multiple research-related tasks including:

  • Screening, recruiting, consenting and enrolling eligible subjects using GCP guidelines
  • Implementing various research protocols and guidelines
  • Scheduling and conducting research visits, including consenting, escorting participants to the infusion center, and scheduling MRI scans
  • Administering and scoring neuropsychological assessments to clinical patients and research participants following standardized protocols
  • Maintaining and entering data into research databases containing patient/participant information

Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for a training program, which includes but is not limited to a 10-week summer internship program for students. Key responsibilities include recruiting applicants for training opportunities by working with the communications team as well as educational and community partners to disseminate program information and coordinate the trainee application and admissions process; coordinating the day-to-day aspects of the program such as scheduling and reserving classroom and conference space, onboarding and exit procedures for trainees, preparing course materials, inviting guest lecturers, facilitating trainee and mentor connections and ensuring mentoring plans are documented and regularly updated; coordinating and documenting evaluation activities for trainees, faculty and training curricula and tracking key metrics for the research training program such as number of applicants, attendance at seminars and lectures and updates on former trainees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
