Scheduling Coordinator
Location: 2018 Brookwood Medical Center Drive, Building C, Suite 215, Birmingham, AL 35209
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, professional, and customer-focused Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will communicate with physicians, patients, and clinical departments to coordinate the scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of tests and procedures. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating by telephone, and providing accurate information with a caring and professional approach.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient tests and procedures.
- Provide accurate scheduling information, including patient preparation instructions, arrival times, and locations.
- Review schedules daily and communicate changes to the appropriate team members.
- Deliver professional and compassionate customer service.
- Listen carefully to customer needs and offer appropriate alternatives when necessary.
- Maintain professional telephone etiquette and clear communication.
- Use registration and scheduling systems, web-based resources, and standard office equipment.
- Assist with identifying and resolving customer service concerns.
- Communicate regularly with physician practices regarding scheduling matters.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and process-improvement initiatives.
- Support established productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare.
- Previous computer experience required.
- Strong telephone, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining patient and professional.
- Medical scheduling, registration, or healthcare experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, or CPT codes is helpful.
