- Maintain alphabetic and numeric files by retrieving and filing a variety of documents;
- Search files for specific information;
- Monitor files for completeness and propriety;
- Receive, segregate, and route mail;
- Order, receive, log and distribute supplies, and monitor inventory;
- Compile information and data necessary for the preparation of various departmental reports;
- Maintain routine operational records by transferring, coding and indexing data;
- Answer the telephone, take messages, and meet and assist the public;
- Perform a limited amount of typing incidental to other tasks; and
- Input data into an automated computer system.
- Meet regularly with designated population;
- Provide support and guidance based on life experience;
- Act as a liaison between designated population and public entities;
- Provide information and referrals regarding services available within the community;
- Create, plan and carry out activities that provide information, encouragement and support;
- Participate in meetings, outreach events and give public presentations;
- Keep accurate records;
- Complete necessary paperwork timely and accurately; and
- Input data into an automated computer system.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to Probation staff;
- Provide first-level support to users, resolving issues, or referring them to a higher-level staff member when necessary;
- Creating user IDs, modifying user profiles, and resetting passwords; and
- Participate in application installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Enroll individuals in department programs;
- Enter attendance of individuals enrolled in programs;
- Send class rosters to program instructors; and
- Track stats related to programs, attendance, and outcomes.
- Create engaging and relevant content for social media platforms while demonstrating creativity and originality;
- Familiar with social media platforms;
- Knowledge of iPhone usage for photos and videos;
- Research trends for department social media platforms;
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries from followers on social media platforms;
- Monitor social media post-performance and engagement through an analytics spreadsheet; and
- Promote the Department's overall culture and help attract potential employees.
- Proper use of grammar and punctuation;
- Alphabetic and numeric filing methods;
- Basic mathematics; and
- Modern office procedures practices.
- Follow oral and written instructions;
- Accurately perform a wide variety of clerical work of routine to average difficulty;
- Learn the operation of office equipment related to the job; and
- Deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
- A combination of training and experience sufficient to gain the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities required.
Equivalent of three (3) months full-time general office, casework, IT, data research, and/or marketing experience.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation including fingerprinting.
- Application Review and Screening. Applications are carefully screened based on information provided. Those who submit incomplete applications that lack relevant qualifications or do not submit all required documents will not be invited to move on.
- Written Examination. Applicants will be invited to participate in a written exam that tests knowledge for the position.
- Oral Examination. Applicants are invited to a panel interview in which they will be evaluated by County subject matter experts.
- Eligible Lists. Candidates who pass the examination will be placed on an eligible list for that classification. Eligible lists are effective for six months, but may be extended up to eighteen months.
Note: The eligible list generated from this recruitment may be used to fill future extra-help, part-time and full-time vacancies throughout Stanislaus County.
Incumbents may also be subject to overtime, standby, callback, weekend, holiday and shift assignments as identified in their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding).

- Pass County-paid pre-employment job-related background investigation.

- Maintain confidential information according to the legal standards and/or County regulations as required.
- Some positions may be required to possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and meet County insurability requirements.

Application and/or examination results may be appealed by applicants presenting facts alleging irregularity, fraud and/or error in application screening or in exam scoring. Appeals must be in writing and submitted to the Chief Executive Officer within seven (7) days after the examination results are emailed.
