Child Care Consultant - Council Bluffs, IA

West Central Community Action is now hiring for our

Child Care Resource and Referral Program

We are actively recruiting for a Full-Time Child Care Consultant.

 

Child Care Consultants are responsible for recruiting, educating, providing technical assistance to and advocating for child care providers.

Consultants also utilize a quality rating system for program planning and staff development.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Gain and demonstrate working knowledge of State of Iowa Administrative Code for each type of child care setting.

• Contact and recruit qualified child care providers to participate in quality initiatives as detailed by the Scope of Services Contract, including best practices as defined by Caring for Our Children, National Standards for early childhood.

• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with local Health & Human Services (HHS) staff assigned for child care registration, licensure, and/or compliance to ensure TA is consistent with the compliance issues identified by HHS.

• Promote CCR&R provider, parent and community services through marketing materials and meetings throughout the communities.

• Complete the I-Consult Certification as detailed by the Scope of Services.

• Sound technical and computer skills are required for this position.

Education Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Sciences with an emphasis or education based in Early Childhood, or similar degree is required.

 

Ideal candidate must have their own dependable transportation, a current and valid driver's license and maintain up to date auto liability insurance.

This position will or may have some evening and Saturday hours as needed to offer training and support to child care providers. Please note schedule, is typically Mon thru Fri with other hours or days of the week as needed.
