Description
This role sits exactly on the boundary between central data engineering and country-level BI teams. You'll turn gold-layer data into semantic models that are genuinely usable, and make sure country teams can work with them confidently and correctly. It's a foundational, high-visibility role: every new country going live depends on the standards, models, and enablement you build.
Profile for Success
- Platform Depth: Demonstrated, hands-on experience building and managing enterprise Power BI semantic models: DAX, star-schema design, RLS, XMLA endpoints, and performance optimisation at scale.
- Fabric Fluency: Working knowledge of a modern cloud lakehouse/warehouse platform (Microsoft Fabric strongly preferred); dbt exposure a strong plus.
- Governance Mindset: Real experience running Power BI workspaces at scale - app deployment, DEV/TEST/PROD pipelines, access/capacity management, certified dataset governance.
- Bridge Skillset: Proven ability to hold a modelling conversation with an engineer and a reporting conversation with a business analyst in the same day.
- Enablement & Teaching: Track record of turning recurring confusion into lasting documentation, not just delivery.
- Multi-Country Comfort: Comfortable working with distributed teams across countries with varying platform maturity, holding a governance line diplomatically.
