As an Analyst, Infrastructure & Energy Transition in the Corporate Banking team, you will contribute to the execution of financing mandates and project related activities that have major strategic impacts for Desjardins Capital Markets. You will support portfolio managers as well as business development efforts in connection with strategic mandates involving clients in the North American infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. You will play a key supporting role with various stakeholders on large scale transactions in the fields of Infrastructure and Energy Transition. You will contribute to complex and innovative initiatives through strategic analytical work. Your responsibilities include assisting in transaction execution, portfolio management, financial modelling, credit analysis, documentation, and sector specific research supporting infrastructure financing activities for a strategic and large scale client base composed primarily of public and private corporations and institutional investors. This role requires strong analytical capabilities and a broad interest in infrastructure and renewable energy. You will also help develop recommendations for highly complex files requiring a deep understanding of capital markets. You will interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders across different areas of expertise. As a subject matter resource, you will also advise clients and partners on ESG related initiatives. This position requires strong attention to detail, autonomy, and the ability to deliver comprehensive analyses under tight deadlines. More specifically, you will be required to :
- Support the senior team members in the execution of new transactions and monitor specialized financing portfolio in the public and private infrastructure, renewable energy and energy transition sectors
- Participate in the due diligence of new transactions, prepare documentation for internal credit presentations, assess profitability, prepare credit applications for annual reviews and amendments for existing and new clients
- Review and monitor the financial performance and risk evolution of existing borrowers, including term loans, revolving credit facilities and other financial products
- Participate in due diligence by performing internal risk assessments for new and existing transactions, including reviewing market studies, engineering reports, financial models, client financial statements and project contracts
- Interact with internal business partners (e.g., Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Derivatives) and external stakeholders (e.g., independent engineers, legal counsel, insurance advisors)
- Build and manipulate financial models for project finance clients and transactions and comfortable with complex structures
- Support the development of new financial products that create value for clients and align with ESG principles
- Provide ad hoc reports for management
- Perform other related duties as required

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in finance, corporate finance or another related field
- 0-5 years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in the infrastructure and energy transition sectors
- Experience in capital markets and/or project finance
- Professional designations such as CFA, CPA or CAIA
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Advanced knowledge of credit analysis and capital markets
- Solid understanding of financial structuring and financial modelling
- Interest in infrastructure and renewable energy
