We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow to conduct research on sustainable battery technologies, including aqueous batteries, solid-state batteries, and other emerging battery systems. The role will focus on establishing and leading the existing battery research team and expanding research activities in sustainable batteries, working closely with our research team and collaborators to advance materials development and mechanistic understanding. Demonstrating capability, creativity and high-impact outcomes in sustainable batteries will be a key requirement.
The Senior Research Fellow will also contribute to the development of shared laboratory platforms, actively pursue external research funding from government and industry, mentor junior researchers, and interpret research results for academic publications and technical reports. The position also requires collaboration with international team members and support for project coordination, documentation, and dissemination of research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the research and development of next-generation sustainable battery systems.
Purchase, manage, maintain, and service laboratory and equipment.
Prepare and contribute to grant applications and conference presentations.
Assist or produce high quality research results in top journals relevant to materials sciences and energy.
Supervise and mentor junior researchers, research engineers, and postdoc researchers within the team.
Engage and communicate with existing or future industrial and academic collaborators to advance the developed technologies from lab-scale verification to pilot implementation.
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
Strong research background in electrochemical energy systems, with demonstrated expertise in aqueous batteries, metal-air batteries, or related electrochemical technologies.
At least 10 years of research experience in sustainable energy storage technologies or related areas.
Demonstrated leadership experience in leading multidisciplinary research projects.
Excellent track record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and collaborators.
Experience in project management and coordinating research activities across multiple workstreams.
Strong passion for research and addressing real-world sustainability challenges in energy storage and conversion.
