Summary
Responsible for technical assistance in area of data analytics. Inputs/gathers C-17 MTS data using various data collection instruments, extracts and cleans data to prepare for analysis, and assists with analysis/visualization of the data to provide business and operational intelligence. Responsible for the collection, recording, and retrieval of information. Interprets source documents, verifies accuracy of information, prepares reports, and manages data storage and retrieval systems. Uses multiple commercial off the shelf (COTS) and proprietary software programs to maintain current databases and develop new training areas. Uses a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques in solving problems. Will be the liaison responsible for implementing new and updated Visual and RADAR databases into existing software baseline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Designs, modifies, develops, and implements C-17 MTS Database systems
- Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
- Utilizes knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Generates preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills
- Work in close coordination with the MTS TSSC Engineering group to ensure a smooth transition of all phases of software implementation and design on assigned projects
- Work closely with the local Test Engineers and various C-17 Maintenance Subject Matter Experts to evaluate and test database design implementation
- Attends and participates, via teleconference, in weekly and monthly meetings providing project and work status to upper level management and customer audience
- Fosters a "team" environment and works well with peers and both internal and external customers.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; OR a minimum of eight (8) years related experience
- Minimum of four years of related experience
- Demonstrates understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
- Demonstrated success in generating preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of COTS software programs such as Photoshop, Terra Vista, Global Mapper, ArcMap, and other global imaging software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project)
- Working knowledge of LINUX, batch files, and the C/C++/FORTRTAN language (preferred)
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts (when required)
- Applicant will be subject to a US Government investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain/maintain the required level of security clearance
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
• Work is performed primarily in an office or engineering support environment within a training systems facility.
• Regular communication with engineering, courseware, IT, logistics, and program management teams.
• Structured workflow requiring precision, organization, and adherence to documentation standards.
• Occasional interaction with Air Force representatives or external vendors.
• Limited travel may be required for meetings, deliveries, or documentation related support.
Physical Demands

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while reviewing documents or working at a computer.
• Ability to walk through simulator areas, technical spaces, or storage rooms as needed.
• May occasionally be required to lift or move small boxes, binders, or technical files (typically up to 25 lbs).
