Description
 

Position Purpose:

Maintain a portfolio of one or more hardware and/or software technologies, products, and/or processes including standards of use, life cycles, and/or product evaluation and integration.  Develop and maintain an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information and guidance of the infrastructure assigned.

Location:

This position is full time and fully onsite in Columbia, South Carolina (strongly preferred), State College, PA, or Dallas, TX. This position operates within a typical Office IT Environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform technical interviews and analysis with vendors and/or stake holders to develop and track the road map/life cycle of infrastructure for hardware, software, products, and/or processes. May schedule regular meetings, conference calls, or on-site visits with vendors and/or stake holders to keep abreast of current technology(s), products, and/or processes. May review with vendor and/or stake holders, known upcoming activities associated with their specific technology(s), product(s), and/or processes. Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology, product, and/or process.
  • Facilitate the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, policies, standards, and desktop procedures to be used by the operational units to guide the use of each technology solution or product.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, and/or management staff.

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need the Following:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's in a job-related field

Degree Equivalency:

  • Associates degree plus an extra 2 years of job-related work experience for a total of 6 years of required work experience (see "required work experience")

OR

  • 8 total years required work experience.


Required Work Experience:

  • 4 Years specific knowledge of the technology(s), product(s), and/or processes to be supported.
  • 1 Year directly supporting the technology(s), product(s), and/or processes. (may be concurrent)


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of a variety of information technology products and solutions.
  • Excellent research, customer service, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail. Good judgment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the IT organization.


Reviewed Software and Other Tools:

  • Standard office equipment. Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Software and tools will vary based on the technologies, products, and/or processes supported.

We Prefer That You Have The Following:

  • IBM z/OS Mainframe experience.
  • Hands on Storage Administration.
  • Experience with HSM, DASD Storage, and/or DFSMS.
  • Coding SMS ACS routines.
  • ISMF to translate, validate, and activate ACS routine, define and maintain SMS constructs.
  • HSM configuration and administration.
  • Monitor SMS storage group utilization.
  • RMM configuration and administration.
  • Creating storage management utilization reports.
  • Initialization and configuration of DASD devices.
  • DFSMSdss full volume and logical dataset dump and restore.
  • Working knowledge of Dino Software T-REX and UDM software products.
  • Working knowledge of Luminex Mainframe Virtual Tape (MVT), storage pools, LSCRUP process, and Luminex GUI.
  • IBM TDMF for z/OS.
  • Working knowledge of DELL EMC PowerMax and SRDF replication.
  • Exploitation of zEDC.
