Job Description Summary

The Core Repair team is responsible for the creation of methods, processes and tools that are utilized for unplanned maintenance such as Major Component Upgrades and Uptower Repairs to Service Onshore and Offshore Wind Turbines. The System Integration Leader (SIL) and Repair Engineer will focus on advancing repair capability on the entire installed fleet. They will have responsibility for system level coordination, initial scoping and contributions to Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), trade studies, contribution to and approval of requirements (DM2 and or RMS artifacts), and direct contributions to projects as a system engineer. They will interface across all the engineering segments including Mega Watt Constraint (MWC), Land Constraint (LC), and Services. They will work closely with the Core Repair, TLs, other SILs, Program Managers, Controlled Title Holders (CTHs), and business leaders to ensure requirements are understood and satisfied. The SIL and Engineer will also support Baseline capabilities and Advanced Repairs by working closely with the rest of Core Repair and cross functional teams.

Job Description

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

-          Direct interface with SVC Product Line Leader(s), Repair, TLs, and subject matter experts to assess projects and conduct initial scoping and need to develop a robust PRD and resource needs

-          Own the Repair Capability Matrix for platforms

-          Assist with NPI teams on the Serviceability/Repairability portion of their design reviews

-          Provide wind turbine system expertise through all phases of product development, from requirement definitions through design, development, validation and product life-cycle support

-          Work with FPM teams to answer PAC cases submitted by the field

-          Identify major risks pertaining to the above-mentioned programs and capabilities, stay current with program risks, and support the development of mitigation strategies

-          Assist in creating and maintaining project plans, owning the design of innovative repair solutions and ensuring adherence to engineering standards

-          Assist in rigging and tooling drawings to capture lessons learned and any requirements from customer/program needs

 

Required Qualifications

-          Bachelor’s Degree or relevant/proven equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or Equivalent)

-          Moderate experience working on GEV Wind Turbine equipment specifically in our Cypress platform

-          Moderate experience in Product Service, Field Service, Outage, Manufacturing and/or Repair specifically in our Cypress platform

-          Moderate experience in Corella and RMS for turbine interfaces

-          Ability and willingness to travel globally 10-20% of the time

-          Ability and willingness to climb wind turbines and work at heights

-          Proficiency with English both written and oral communications
