Assistant Manager, Corporate Strategy

Manulife Vietnam is seeking a highly motivated and strategic individual to join our Corporate Strategy team as a Manager, Corporate Strategy. Reporting to the Strategy Director, the successful candidate will support the development, execution, and monitoring of strategic initiatives that drive business growth, operational excellence, and organizational transformation. Combining strong data-driven analysis, stakeholder management, and change-management discipline, this role translates enterprise priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes across distribution, operations, marketing, and Customer experience.

What you will do:

 

1.  Strategic Planning & Cascade

• Coordinate with the leadership team and functional departments on the development of strategic plans and business cases, translating enterprise priorities into clear, actionable roadmaps for one or more lines of business.
• Facilitate alignment of business priorities across departments.
• Lead the preparation of strategic planning workshops and leadership offsites.

2.  Market Intelligence

• Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging best practices in the insurance and financial services sectors.
• Prepare insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and innovation initiatives.
• Maintain a repository of market intelligence and strategic insights for internal use.

3.  Strategy Execution

• Lead execution of key company wide and change-management activities, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop and maintain project plans, track progress, and manage risks and dependencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive execution and resolve issues.

4. Reporting & Governance

• Coordinate with regional and local teams to prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting strategic initiatives, KPIs, and business performance.
• Support governance processes, including the preparation of materials for leadership and board-level meetings.

5. Strategic Support for Business Needs

• Support planning and execution of corporate events, townhalls, and strategic communication activities.
• Assist in other strategic projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in the insurance or financial services industry. Background in business planning, operations, project management, or transformation is welcomed.
• Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end delivery of initiatives independently — from planning and resourcing through execution, tracking, and reporting.
• Proven experience influencing and coordinating across functions, including preparing and presenting materials to executive and management audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
