Overview
The successful candidate will lead the Digital team for the Land Development business unit, overseeing digital delivery across infrastructure and master planning projects delivered by AtkinsRéalis across the Middle East. The role ensures compliance with client requirements, and project standards while providing digital leadership, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination across Roads, Wet & Dry utilities, Civil Structures, landscape, GIS, and master planning disciplines.
Your role
- Oversee the digital team’s day-to-day tasks in a progressive assurance manner.
- Support the Business Unit Director for Land Development.
- Establish and maintain all interfaces with other digital leads in the region such as Buildings Places, Automation, R&D, GIS, Program Advisory, etc.
- Ensure that all proposal linked to land development business unit will have the required technical and commercial input regarding Information Management.
- Update and maintain the team’s resource planning in line with all existing and planned pipeline.
- Manage team recruitment as per resource plan in coordination with HR department.
- Accountable for maintenance and reporting of all agreed digital KPIs relating to land development.
- Work closely with discipline leads and project managers to establish and maintain best practice digital procedures.
- Support strategic initiatives of departments in land development business unit.
- Responsible to develop the annual digital strategy for land development as part of the overall Digital Strategy for the region.
- Support/lead ISO certification and its continuance globally for AtkinsRealis.
- Ensure that appropriate project BIM standards and procedures are established and maintained as per ISO19650 standards.
- Direct point of contact with software providers such as Autodesk, Bentley and Esri for collaboration and management of agreed and approved initiatives.
- Lead/support/audit proper CDE development plan(s), implementation, management and maintenance.
- Provide technical advice on software and technology involved in the delivery of projects regarding the Information Management processes and workflows.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to add value to Client’s IM/BIM strategy, implementation and usage.
- Lead BIM and Digital Delivery coordination with clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and authorities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Ensure compliance with naming conventions, classification systems, metadata requirements, document control procedures, and the timely delivery of information through MIDP and TIDP management.
- Develop, implement, and manage the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ensuring compliance with client requirements, project standards, and ISO 19650 throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and manage BIM QA/QC workflows, including model reviews, clash detection, and information validation, ensuring issue resolution through project delivery.
- Lead coordination and integration of Master Planning, Roads, Landscape, Wet & Dry Utilities, Civil Structures, and GIS disciplines, while collaborating with Architecture, Structural, and MEP teams to ensure design alignment and timely resolution of project interface.
- Lead and support the development and implementation of digital automation solutions across Master Planning, Roads, Landscape, Wet & Dry Utilities, Civil Structures and GIS disciplines to enhance productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
About you
Essential Requirements
- Experience in delivering complex infrastructure and masterplan projects in the Middle East.
- Expertise in Digital Engineering strategy development and implementation.
- Detailed knowledge and experience with ISO 19650 standards.
- Experienced in integration between Digital/IM/BIM and other departments (e.g. quality, contract, procurement, bidding, talent management, etc.)
- Strong ability to develop technical documentation for digital delivery and information management tender proposals.
- Experience implementing, training users on, and applying Digital/IM/BIM tools from leading software vendors such as Autodesk and Bentley.
- Strong knowledge and experience in implementation, management and maintenance of Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Issue resolution and management skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills including critical thinking.
- Experience with Autodesk Forma (previously known as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360) Bentley ProjectWise, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, and GIS platforms.
Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the Architecture, Civil Engineering or related Discipline Construction industry.
- Minimum 10 years of BIM/Digital Delivery experience in Infrastructure and land development projects across the Middle East region.
- Member of professional body; accreditation on BIM or Information Management; and other professional certification such as PMP is desirable
Desirable Requirements
- Professional certifications in BIM/Digital Delivery tools for modelling, 3D coordination, 4D/5D planning, and information management.
- Experience with Bentley digital delivery platforms, including ProjectWise, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, Open Utilities, MicroStation.
