##
Company:
Qualcomm India Private Limited
## Job Area:
Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering
General Summary:
As a leading technology innovator, Qualcomm pushes the boundaries of what is possible to enable next-generation intelligent computing, AI, connectivity, and low-power embedded technologies.
As a Senior Embedded Software Architect Engineer, you will drive the architecture, design, and evolution of embedded software platforms, developer frameworks, and SDKs that enable internal engineering organizations, OEMs, ISVs, and ecosystem partners to build applications and services across heterogeneous computing environments.
You will serve as a technical architect responsible for defining scalable Embedded SDK and Agentic SDK strategies spanning multiple operating systems, processors, and software subsystems. This role requires deep expertise across the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation, validation, commercialization, and long-term platform evolution.
You will collaborate with software, hardware, AI, systems, security, tooling, and product teams to create developer experiences that accelerate adoption of Qualcomm technologies across mobile, IoT, XR, automotive, industrial, and edge-AI platforms.
## Responsibilities
### SDK Architecture & Platform Strategy
- Define the architecture, roadmap, and technical direction for Embedded SDK platforms supporting heterogeneous compute environments.
- Architect reusable software frameworks, APIs, middleware layers, tooling, and runtime environments that operate across multiple operating systems and processor architectures.
- Drive architecture decisions for Agentic SDK platforms enabling autonomous workflows, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and edge intelligence solutions.
- Establish long-term platform strategies balancing developer productivity, portability, performance, power efficiency, security, and scalability.
### Software Architecture
- Design software architectures supporting Qualcomm SoCs comprising CPUs, DSPs, NPUs, MCUs, accelerators, and secure execution environments.
- Define software decomposition, interface specifications, service boundaries, and integration requirements across subsystems.
- Develop architectural solutions supporting multi-OS deployments including Linux, Android, Zephyr, QuRT, QNX, Windows, and emerging RTOS environments.
- Drive architecture reviews and technical governance processes across multiple engineering organizations.
### Software Development Lifecycle Leadership
- Lead software programs through the complete software development lifecycle including:
- Requirements analysis
- Architecture definition
- Design specification
- Development
- Integration
- Validation
- Release management
- Commercialization
- Sustaining engineering
- Ensure platform designs meet performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and security requirements.
- Establish architecture documentation, reference implementations, coding standards, and platform adoption guidelines.
### Agentic AI Enablement
- Architect frameworks enabling AI agents to interact with embedded systems, sensors, edge-AI services, and device resources.
- Define SDK interfaces for model execution, orchestration engines, memory systems, telemetry, context management, and tool invocation.
- Design software abstractions supporting on-device AI workloads across constrained embedded environments.
- Collaborate with AI framework teams to enable deployment of agentic and generative AI capabilities on Qualcomm platforms.
### Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with silicon architects, systems teams, operating system teams, AI researchers, security architects, and developer tooling organizations.
- Influence future chipset software roadmaps through architecture proposals and technical leadership.
- Mentor software engineers and contribute to technical growth across the organization.
- Represent Qualcomm with OEMs, ecosystem partners, standards bodies, and open-source communities when required.
