About the Role
As the IT Communications Specialist, you will ensure clarity, consistency, and transparency of communications for the Digital Automotive function. You will plan and execute a variety of communications for multiple stakeholders across multiple communications channels and own the function’s business-facing intranet site. You will report to the Digital Automotive Organizational Change Management (OCM) & Communications Leader. This is a communications-led role with responsibility for creating, organizing, delivering, and maintaining content that supports Digital Automotive initiatives and the Digital Automotive brand within the organization.
What You Will Do
- Plan and create high-impact communications (presentations, email, long-form writing, video, etc.) for diverse audiences. Partner with leadership to develop clear, compelling narratives and executive-ready materials that support Digital Automotive initiatives and the Digital Automotive brand.
- Own and maintain the business-facing Digital Automotive intranet site. Curate content, manage site structure and navigation, ensure an intuitive and engaging user experience, create and publish pages and libraries, and continuously improve the site as the primary repository for Harman-facing Digital Automotive content and brand experience.
- Lead or support communications and adoption efforts for Digital projects with significant user impact, including participating as a member of the project core teams as needed.
What You Need to Be Successful
- The ideal candidate combines outstanding communication skills — specifically, the ability to understand and communicate technical topics — with 6+ years of experience managing intranet or web sites, including information architecture and user experience. You must have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to quickly understand complex and technical topics to create clear, accurate, engaging, and actionable messages for business audiences. Experience writing about technology-related topics — preferably IT or Digital — is a must.
- Expert-level PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create executive-ready presentations, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong SharePoint experience designing and managing site structure, information architecture, content organization, navigation, and user experience. Ability to organize and present complex information in ways that are intuitive, accessible, and easy for users to find. Ability to own, continuously improve, and make recommendations for a business-facing intranet site.
- Project management capabilities and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously, including the ability to analyze situations, exercise sound judgement, and adapt/ pivot as needed.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, global, cross-functional environments and work effectively in evolving environments and changing or ambiguous situations.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience in an IT or Digital function and/or in global organizations across multiple time zones
