The Opportunity
Join a team delivering some of Australia's most significant hydrographic and marine spatial projects.
In this role, you will play a key role in the planning, delivery and technical leadership of complex HIPP projects. If variety is something you are looking for, Fugro offer the added opportunity to get involved with multidisciplinary projects including airborne LiDAR, geophysics, geotechnical investigations and positioning services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the planning and delivery of HIPP hydrographic survey projects from mobilisation through to reporting and client handover.
- Oversee data acquisition, processing and QA/QC to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Act as technical lead for survey operations, equipment setup, calibration and survey methodologies.
- Provide technical input for tenders.
- Opportunity to work alongside operations teams on marine geophysical, geotechnical, positioning and construction projects, as well as airborne LiDAR data acquisition projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hydrographer who is already Level 1 qualified, or who has Cat A Qualification with the skills, experience and motivation to achieve Level 1 certification with Fugro’s support in the short term.
About You
You enjoy solving technical challenges, leading projects and delivering high-quality outcomes. You bring strong hydrographic experience, a collaborative mindset and the confidence to take ownership of projects and guide others.
We are looking for:
- Degree or recognised qualification in Hydrographic Survey.
- Level 1 Hydrographic Surveyor certification, or the experience, competency and motivation to achieve Level 1 accreditation in the short term.
- Demonstrated experience delivering vessel-based hydrographic surveys, including acquisition, processing, QA/QC and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of multibeam echosounders, GNSS positioning systems, survey control and industry-standard hydrographic software.
- Experience working as the SiC on HIPP projects - preferred.
- Experience across offshore, coastal, ports or marine infrastructure projects.
