Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented AI Policy Lead / Governance Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to serve as the AI Policy Lead supporting the USCYBERCOM Chief AI Officer (CAIO). This role is critical for guiding the command through the complex landscape of artificial intelligence governance. The Policy Lead will interpret, analyze, and operationalize federal and Department of War (DoW) AI policies, ensuring that USCYBERCOM's AI initiatives are legally compliant, ethically sound, and fully aligned with national defense directives.
What You'll Be Doing/ Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development & Governance: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of USCYBERCOM internal policies, governance frameworks, and procedures that support the ethical and effective employment of Artificial Intelligence across the command.
DoW & Federal Compliance: Analyze, interpret, and implement applicable U.S. Government, Department of War (DoW), and Joint Staff AI directives, instructions, and ethical principles to ensure command-wide compliance with evolving policy and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder & Interagency Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CAIO on AI policy matters, collaborating with DoW organizations, the Joint Staff, interagency partners, and legal and compliance teams to align AI governance with national cyber strategy and mission objectives.
Risk Management & Ethics: Support the development and implementation of risk management frameworks for military AI applications, addressing accountability, safety, bias mitigation, and Responsible AI (RAI) principles throughout the AI lifecycle.
Executive Advisory: Develop policy papers, white papers, executive summaries, compliance memoranda, and strategic recommendations to brief senior military and civilian leadership on emerging policy developments, regulatory impacts, and AI governance initiatives.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in policy formulation, strategic governance, regulatory compliance, or public affairs, with a focus on defense or national security sectors.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, International Affairs, Political Science, Law, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline with 12 yrs experience OR Master degree in relevant field w/ 10 yrs experience.
Deep, demonstrated understanding of U.S. Government and Department of War (DoW) policies, directives, and governance structures regarding Artificial Intelligence, data ethics, or emerging technologies.
Proven ability to translate high-level legal and bureaucratic policy language into actionable, practical governance structures for operational commands.
Active TS SCI w/polygraph security clearance
Security Clearance Requirement:
