POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety, Risk, and Compliance Coordinator supports Behavioral Health Allies (BHA) in maintaining a safe, compliant, and risk-aware environment across all programs and service lines.
This role plays a key function in safety program implementation, incident review, internal investigations, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance activities, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local requirements, including DMH, DSS, DESE, OSHA, and Medicaid standards.
The Coordinator partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify risks, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and support audit readiness, contributing to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This position requires strong attention to detail, investigative thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority issues in a fast-paced and sometimes high-risk environment.
This role also supports the administration and oversight of the workers’ compensation program, including light duty coordination, and works closely with the Human Resources team and workers’ compensation carriers to ensure timely reporting, compliance, and employee support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety, risk management, compliance, regulatory or criminal enforcement or a related field
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, education, or human services preferred

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Program Support
• Assist in development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
• Coordinate and track safety training and compliance requirements
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
Risk Assessment & Investigations
• Participate in risk assessments and safety inspections
• Conduct internal investigations including interviews, documentation review, and analysis
• Complete investigation reports, including root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action plans
• Track and monitor implementation of corrective actions
• Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting
• Collaborate with external agencies during investigations as directed
Compliance Monitoring
• Conduct internal compliance audits and assessments
• Support adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies
• Assist with preparation for audits, surveys, and licensing reviews
• Maintain documentation to support compliance and audit readiness
Training and Awareness
• Coordinate safety and compliance training programs
• Promote awareness of safety, compliance, and risk management practices
• Support development of training materials and resources
Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation related to safety, incidents, and compliance
• Prepare reports for leadership as required
• Track trends, risks, and corrective actions
Other Duties
• Perform special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned
• Support accreditation or regulatory audits
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development
• Model BHA Core Values and professional standards

Starting Pay: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $28.00 per hour with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience.
