As a Security Officer Unarmed Customer Service in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide courteous customer service to visitors and staff. Using strong communication and computer skills, you will document activity while representing our agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government health and environmental services location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, unusual conditions, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy violations.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
