The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Flight Systems Engineering Capability is currently seeking an Experienced Vehicle Management Systems Hardware Engineer to join the Air Dominance Vehicle Management System (VMS), Hardware team located in Berkeley, MO.
You will work across engineering disciplines to help us design elements of the Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) hardware. You will collaborate with our requirements and labs teams to implement and test your designs. Mechanical, Electrical, Aerodynamics, and other engineers are all welcome – to succeed in this role, you will need to leverage your area of expertise and quickly learn on the job about other areas to develop capabilities for our Vehicle Management System Computer. You will get to see tangible results of your efforts as you contribute to exciting aircraft development programs in St. Louis.
Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical s system requirements. Design hardware, and interfaces specifications.
Test and validates to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements
Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware over the entire product cycle
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business
Analyze solutions to ensure ongoing operation of products thru life cycle
Position Responsibilities:
Lead requirements decomposition and traceability from customer need to testable design
Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to contract requirements and customer feedback
Design hardware and interface specifications
Understand and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
Develop statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
Analyze, translate, and implement customer requirements into system architecture, hardware design and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle
Defines test and validation approach to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Troubleshoot integration and sustainment anomalies across hardware/software life cycles
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements and for potential application to internal business strategies
Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integrity and compliance with requirements
Coordinate suppliers, test labs, and cross-discipline engineering to deliver on schedule and cost
Solve problems concerning fielded hardware over the entire product lifecycle
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
An interim Secret Clearance Pre-Start and Final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
Level 3 (Experienced): 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's or 3+ years of work-related experience with a Masters or PhD
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Prior experience with Vehicle Management Systems
Prior experience with Supplier Management
Active Secret Clearance or higher
MSOSA/MBSE knowledge

Education:
Level 3 (Experienced) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
