Job Summary:
The Product Manager plays a key role in the commercialization and sale of veterinary diagnostics in both domestic and international markets. This position manages product lifecycle responsibilities from development of product, marketing and sales strategy through implementation to evaluation of product performance in the market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages an assigned subset of company portfolio products and their product lifecycle
- Meets with clients to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Provides data-based insights and informs stakeholders of key business decisions
- Develops product strategy, including marketing opportunities, positioning, training content and messaging
- Creates marketing/sales plans to drive product adoption in target markets
- Executes new product launch sales activities
- Performs post launch and in-market evaluation; reports monthly metrics and provides data analytics
- Delivers technical training to partners or distributors while supporting these relationships with information, education, and troubleshooting; Provides customer training for relevant products
- Represents VMRD Inc. at seminars, business meetings and conferences to enhance company image and advance product acceptance
- Leads relevant new product processes; works across departments to develop, test, launch, and evaluate in market; collaborates with scientists for product improvement and troubleshooting
- Assesses new products for domestic and international markets; identifies opportunities for growth
- Identifies, develops, and nurtures vendor partner relationships when required
- Coordinates international product registrations of assigned products
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent oral and written communication; comfortable with public speaking and MS software
Desired Qualifications and Experiences:
- Experience in biologics industry, veterinary preferred, diagnostics preferred; Equine related experience a plus
- Demonstrated competence in problem solving, analytics and project management
- Aptitude in building relationships
Education, Licenses and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or business-related field
- 2+ years in laboratory diagnostics or related field
Physical Requirements for the Job:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Travel 25% nationally and internationally
