Role Purpose:
To ensure compliance with tax legislation and deliver tax administrative services by compiling, validating and submitting accurate tax returns to the Namibia Revenue Agency in accordance with statutory requirements and internal governance standards.
Are you someone who can:
- Prepare, validate and submit accurate tax returns including VAT, PAYE, WHT and related statutory obligations in line with legislative requirements and submission deadlines
- Ensure full compliance with applicable tax legislation, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards across all tax activities
- Review tax calculations, schedules and submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness and alignment to financial records
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and flag potential impacts or compliance risks to relevant stakeholders
- Support responses to tax authority queries, assessments and audits through preparation and provision of required information
- Ensure all tax payments are processed accurately and timeously in accordance with submission requirements
- Provide support to Group Finance as and when required to ensure accurate financial and tax reporting and any other tax related matters as they arise
You will be an ideal candidate if you hold the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Taxation or Law
- A Post-Graduate Diploma in Taxation will be an added advantage
Years of experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in tax administration, taxation compliance or finance environment
- Experience in the banking sector will be a distinct advantage
Knowledge
- Tax legislation and compliance requirements (VAT, PAYE, WHT)
- Tax return preparation and submission processes on ITAS and Asycuda
- Financial reconciliation and control account management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- General ledger and financial systems
- Audit and compliance processes
