Description

Hourly Pay Range:

$61.80 - $95.79 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Director, Clinical Engineering Business Office
  • Multiple locations available: Warrenville, Glenbrook, Skokie, and Evanston, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

General Summary:

  • Accountable for the financial, contractual, and business operations backbone of Endeavor Health's Clinical Engineering (CE) program — owning capital and equipment planning, service and purchase contracting, strategic sourcing, regulatory and recall compliance, medical-device cybersecurity coordination, and asset inventory recovery. Drives standardization across the CE program — equipment, contracting, and business processes — to reduce variation and cost across sites. Partners with vendors and OEM suppliers, CE Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Security, Design & Construction, and clinical leadership to ensure CE spend is disciplined, controllable costs are reduced year over year, and equipment investments deliver clinical and financial value.

What you will do:

  • Own capital and equipment planning for CE: build and maintain the five-year replacement plan, prioritize annual capital, and partner with site and service-line leaders on equipment standardization
  • Oversee CE contracting — negotiate and execute service contracts, capital and purchase contracts, sole-source decisions, and preferred-vendor strategy; act on performance deficiencies up to and including contract termination
  • Develop operating and capital budgets; monitor monthly expenditures with budget-vs.-actual reporting and corrective actions; ensure CE purchasing complies with policy
  • Lead the CE Business Office function, including clinical service request intake and triage, strategic sourcing, vendor onboarding, and business process standardization across sites
  • Own the CE regulatory compliance, recall management, and medical-device cybersecurity program, including leadership of the Regulatory & Compliance Manager, in partnership with vendors, OEMs, and Information Security; oversee CMMS, data, and finance analytics
  • Run the Asset Inventory Recovery program: track, recover, and disposition retired or relocated medical equipment
  • Integrate CE coverage for new facilities, mergers, and acquired physician practices — program assessment, service-agreement review, inventory audit, and replacement valuation
  • Develop direct reports through coaching, performance evaluations, and quality audits; perform full HR responsibilities for staff

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Certification: Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM), Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP), or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is preferred
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in CE, healthcare operations, or an equivalent discipline; 5+ years of supervisory experience is required; Healthcare capital planning, service contract negotiation, or GPO/strategic sourcing experience in a multi-site health system is preferred

Benefits (For full time or part time positions):

  • Eligibility for our Annual Incentive Plan, which offers the potential to earn a certain percentage amount of your base salary based on organizational performance. (For AIP eligible positions)
  • Incentive pay for select positions
  • Opportunity for annual increases based on performance
  • Career Pathways to Promote Professional Growth and Development
  • Various Medical, Dental, Pet and Vision options
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Free Parking
  • Wellness Program Savings Plan
  • Health Savings Account Options
  • Retirement Options with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay
  • Community Involvement Opportunities
