Job Description:
This job is responsible for supporting data and technology requests, complex reporting and analysis, and modeling to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses. Key responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing portfolio trends, supporting the development of more complex databases or queries to extract data, and supporting the production of data for internal and external reporting needs. Job expectations include working with Technology to implement changes necessary to support ongoing data needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and execution of reporting to allow Risk and business partners to effectively identify and manage risk
  • Analyzes trends and supports the data design, portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics to ensure alignment with business strategies
  • Provides analytical support on various product strategic initiatives affecting multiple Risk functions and lines of business to ensure company goals are met
  • Participates in the development of database production processes and performance reports for senior management, using data mining and other advanced analytical techniques to aggregate data
  • Supports with responding to complex ad-hoc requests for information from both internal and external parties
  •  Provides support on cross-functional efforts to remediate data quality issues
  •  Monitors the outputs of controls and investigates alerts from the control checks
  • Perform complex analysis to produce unique insights into asset quality, model use risk,  and other emerging risks
  • Support the development of Credit Risk points of view through analysis of loss forecasting results, model use risks, and emerging risk themes.
  • Explore more sophisticated analytical techniques to assess current and potential risks
  • Provide independent assessment of model use risks within the Consumer and Small Business model inventory
  • Expand AI adoption in support of effective monitoring, risk assessment, operational excellence, and documentation
     

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ year degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Data Science or equivalent) or 5+ years experience in quantitative area
  • Experience in data science, quantitative analysis, and critical thinking
  • Ability to apply analytical and programming skills to analyze large and complex datasets, synthesize multiple analyses into a coherent message, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Understanding of the modeling process, model performance measures, and model risk
  • Experience in partnering, influencing, and persuading to achieve desired results
  • Excellent oral, written, influencing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Capability to work independently with little supervision in a complex team environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in using MS Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and Tableau (or other Business Intelligence applications)
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and manage conflict 
  • Programing skills – Python / SAS / SQL / R  (Intermediate)
     

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, or equivalent certifications
  • Experience with model development, validation, or use
  • Experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI solutions to risk management processes
