Responsibilities
The individual’s primary responsibility will be to work as part of the Oaktree’s valuation team and assist with valuation of portfolio assets within Oaktree’s private credit, private equity funds and other funds in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
- Manage the quarterly valuation review process for 100+ private credit and private equity investments, ensuring timely completion, data integrity, and compliance with ASC 820 and financial reporting requirements.
- Supervise analysts and managers responsible for preparing quarterly portfolio valuations, providing technical guidance, reviewing work products, and ensuring adherence to valuation policies and deadlines.
- Coordinate third-party valuation reviews for private debt/private equity securities, performing first-level reviews of valuation models, key assumptions, and legal agreements to validate complex waterfall distribution methodologies.
- Liaise with investment teams to review valuation methodologies and proposed marks, facilitating discussions and escalating complex valuation matters to senior management as appropriate.
- Partner with Investment, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Legal, offshore teams, external auditors, and third-party valuation firms to execute the quarterly valuation process, resolve issues, and support financial reporting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on ASC 820, providing technical guidance, reviewing complex valuation matters, and supporting compliance with fair value accounting requirements.
- Prepare ad hoc valuation analyses, market research, and reporting to support senior management, and strategic business initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and quality of the private valuation function.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of valuation experience within valuation/appraisal, Big 4, or another financial advisory firm.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Strong modeling experience.
- Experience managing a team.
- Ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, and self-initiating other value-added tasks.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Master’s degree a plus. CFA holder a plus
