Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Technology Program Manager to drive the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that support strategic business priorities and customer commitments.
In this role, you will partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and Business teams to plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale programs.
The ideal candidate combines strong program leadership, executive communication skills, technical acumen, and the ability to influence across a complex matrix organization. This leader will manage strategic customer initiatives and technology programs, cross-functional dependencies, risks, financial planning, and executive reporting while ensuring delivery against business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning and Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of complex technology programs and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain integrated program plans, roadmaps, schedules, and milestone tracking.
- Coordinate activities across multiple product, engineering, and business teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Track program progress and drive timely resolution of issues that may impact delivery commitments.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and Customer-facing teams to align priorities and execution plans.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to manage dependencies, remove obstacles, and resolve conflicts.
- Drive accountability across stakeholders while fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
Governance and Communication
- Establish and manage program governance processes, operating rhythms, and reporting mechanisms.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise program status updates for leadership reviews.
- Communicate key milestones, decisions, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency into program health and delivery progress.
Risk and Dependency Management
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage program risks, issues, and interdependencies.
- Develop mitigation plans and coordinate execution of corrective actions.
- Escalate critical issues with clear recommendations and supporting data.
Customer and Business Alignment
- Support strategic customer initiatives and business-critical programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
- Ensure business priorities are reflected in program planning and execution activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled program management best practices, tools, and processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery predictability, operational efficiency, and team effectiveness.
- Contribute to organizational learning through lessons learned, retrospective reviews, and process enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Technology Program Management, Project Management, Product Delivery, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading large, cross-functional technology initiatives in a matrixed organization.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and technology delivery practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Experience managing program risks, dependencies, and executive communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting strategic customer programs, airline technology, travel technology, distribution platforms, or digital commerce solutions.
- Experience working across globally distributed teams.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks, Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery management tools.
- PMP, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent project/program management certification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment undergoing transformation and growth.
