This includes engineering teams, distributors, and more than 100 qualified construction crews with extensive experience across all ISP types and markets; over 300 experienced bury drop crews; and more than 700 professional technicians.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations in the Tacoma, WA area. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of the fiber construction operations in this area, ensuring alignment with company goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The Director will drive cross-functional collaboration, optimize processes for scalability, and lead teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective results while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The Role
- Provide overall operational leadership and oversight across all active markets, with accountability for profitability, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and key performance targets
- Lead daily program operations, ensuring crews and business partners meet production, safety, quality, completion, and cycle-time goals
- Drive accountability across internal teams, subcontractors, and business partners for productivity, cost control, quality, timeliness, and on-time completion
- Oversee scheduling, dispatch, work allocation, and resource planning to maximize operational efficiency and meet program targets
- Serve as a key escalation point for operational issues, proactively identifying challenges and ensuring timely resolution in alignment with company performance and quality standards
- Monitor program performance and financial results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve margins, productivity, and overall performance
- Partner with Finance and Billing to ensure accurate coding, timely invoicing, reduction of unbilled work, and effective management of past-due accounts
- Ensure all field operations comply with company, customer, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Lead process improvement and operational standardization initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, service delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of operational leaders, employees, and business partners to build high-performing teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the program
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership
Requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience in operations, telecommunications, utilities, construction, or a related industry
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
- Proven ability to lead distributed teams and manage the performance of employees, subcontractors, and business partners
- Strong knowledge of operational management, financial performance, budgeting, billing, and profit margins
- Demonstrated success in process improvement, workflow optimization, and performance management
- Strong understanding of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, operations management systems, and other business software
- Relevant education or training in operations management, business, construction management, telecommunications, or a related field
- Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
- Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
