Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for Health Care Compliance Officer, Innovative Medicine Malaysia & Indonesia 

Purpose: 

The Health Care Compliance Officer is responsible for leading and driving the Health Care Compliance (HCC) programme across Innovative Medicine Malaysia & Indonesia ensuring business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, industry codes, company policies, anti-corruption laws including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and Johnson & Johnson's commitment to ethical business practices. 

This role serves as a strategic business partner, providing practical, risk-based compliance guidance, enabling businesses to accelerate compliant growth and move with agility and confidence. while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, patient focus, and responsible decision-making across the organisation. 

This position reports to the Director, Health Care Compliance, Innovative Medicine SEA & India. 

 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Partnering with business leadership teams to design, implement, and continuously strengthen an effective compliance programme that proactively identifies, mitigates, and monitors compliance risks across Malaysia & Indonesia. 

  • Providing strategic and operational compliance support through practical, risk-based guidance on healthcare professional engagements, government official interactions, third-party relationships, and commercial business activities 

  • Leading compliance governance processes, including risk assessments, compliance monitoring, investigations, metrics, corrective action plans, and ongoing programme effectiveness reviews 

  • Driving the oversight and management of third-party intermediary compliance programmes, including due diligence, risk mitigation, monitoring activities, and compliance lifecycle management 

  • Chairing and supporting compliance governance committees while influencing business decisions through policy interpretation, ethical decision-making, and regulatory guidance 

  • Delivering compliance education, training, communications, and awareness initiatives that strengthen the culture of compliance across employees, contractors, distributors, and business partners 

  • Partnering with regional and global stakeholders to implement compliance transformation initiatives, standard operating procedures, continuous improvement programmes, audit readiness activities, and regulatory change management processes 

  • Supporting internal and external audits, investigations, reporting requirements, and cross-functional compliance projects while ensuring timely resolution of compliance issues and effective stakeholder engagement 

 

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree is an advantage 

  • Minimum 8 years of business, compliance, governance, risk management, legal, quality, audit, finance, or related experience, including demonstrated leadership experience in a compliance-oriented function 

  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management methodologies, governance processes, healthcare regulations, and industry codes of practice 

  • Proven ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders while balancing business objectives and compliance requirements 

  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and provide practical, risk-based recommendations 

  • Demonstrated experience leading investigations, compliance reviews, risk assessments, monitoring activities, or governance-related initiatives 

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous and Bahasa Indonesia is a plus 

  • High integrity, strong ethical judgment, and the ability to make and defend difficult decisions while fostering a culture of accountability and compliance
