At Logan Health, our Primary Care team is dedicated to supporting patients through compassionate and coordinated care. We are seeking a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and/or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical care, patient communication, care coordination, and day-to-day clinic operations.

This role plays an important part in creating a positive patient experience by assisting providers, preparing patients for exams and procedures, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, documenting accurately, coordinating care needs, and supporting patients with professionalism, empathy, and respect.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations and treatments, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
  • Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments while helping ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform competency-validated clinical tasks, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, scheduling, and follow-up appointments.
  • Support medication refill requests, patient callbacks, and portal communications as appropriate.
  • Support daily clinic operations by maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies and helping create an efficient, welcoming environment for patients.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the requirements for LPN, RMA, or CMA:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Current licensure as required for the position.

OR

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): Current Registered Medical Assistant credential through an accredited certifying organization.

OR

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA): Certification in one (1) of the following required:
    • Certified Medical Assistant Exam through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • Registered Medical Assistant Exam through American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • Clinical Medical Assistant Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
    • National Certified Medical Assistant Exam through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification through American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
  • RQI Provider (BLS) required within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before providing independent patient care, whichever comes first.

Preferred Experience

  • One (1) year of experience in a medical practice or primary care setting preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, pharmacology, infection control practices, and HIPAA requirements preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, patient confidentiality, and exceptional patient care.
  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software systems as needed.

Shift:

Day Shift - 10 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
