Job Summary
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all administrative needs between Production/Scheduling/Engineering and Project Management to ensure customer needs are met.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Point of Contact from External Stakeholders- This will entail relaying information to the floor or possibly setting up meetings to go over issues or roll outs that are upcoming.
Scheduling- Understands the capacity of the mill and shop.
Learning Shop Flow- Understand workflow and the reasoning behind it. Identifying bottle necks in the process and offering solutions to resolve.
Productivity- Partner with Assembly and Mill supervisors to understand labor targets on each job and address any issues through the ECR process. Identify opportunities where labor standards can be improved. Drive changes to BOM and labor standards which directly tie to expected margins for a product and account.
Meetings and Reviews- May be asked to attend COQ or Project Management meetings and BOM reviews.
Additional Tasks
Review BOM’s and drawings.
Submit ECR’s for approvals.
Order parts due to incorrect BOM’s and request to add to job as applicable.
Facilitate, organize and distribute packaging plans to Production.
Understand the scope of order/program.
Take photos as requested.
Schedule 1st article meeting and virtual meeting coordinating with Project management. Maintain records of these meetings.
Track schedule for “Hot” due dates and ship dates.
Assist Project Management when necessary. Working out issues with other divisions including contact with their PM/Shipping/Engineering departments.
Develop solid understanding of the Epicor System including Time Phase reports and ability to locate other information, including drawings, within the system.
Assist Scheduling department with downloading drawings, updating production method requests, and providing back up to the Finite Scheduler.
Qualifications
Highschool graduate or GED Required
Associates Degree in technical or trade school preferred
1+ years Custom Store Fixture (or similar) manufacturing experience
Good working knowledge of production operations
Able to read and interpret drawings
Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Exposure to design, retail, engineering and bill of material generation
Must be able to work independently while multi-tasking
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
