The Position Specifics

As a Host, you are the first and last face every guest sees—the Porta of Oakmont. Your energy, attentiveness, and care set the tone for the dining experience. You manage the flow of the dining room, support the service team, and make every guest feel valued.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave
• Seat guests efficiently and manage the waitlist iPad system
• Keep waitlists organized and manage guest expectations with care and positivity
• Answer phones and direct guest inquiries appropriately
• Communicate guest requests clearly to servers and team members
• Assist teammates with food delivery and bussing tables when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house environment

This position participates in a tip pool in accordance with company policy and applicable wage and hour laws.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a restaurant or customer service role preferred
• Must maintain a valid Food Handlers’ certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, energetic, and welcoming personality
• Able to stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to manage reservations, seating, and guest flow efficiently
• Must be at least 16 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
