Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), you will provide vital direct patient care, significantly contributing to patient well-being and recovery as an integral part of our compassionate healthcare team.Every day, you will assess patient conditions, administer medications, perform prescribed treatments, and meticulously document care. You will collaborate with RNs and physicians to implement individualized care plans, ensuring a seamless and high-quality patient experience.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient safety, and excellent communication. Your compassionate demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment are essential.

 

• Provides culturally sensitive care that respects the rights, beliefs, and values of patients and their families
• Identifies age-appropriate developmental findings and promptly reports abnormalities to the RN to ensure timely intervention
• Executes technical nursing procedures and care plans as directed, while prioritizing tasks based on current patient acuity
• Facilitates patient and family education by identifying learning needs and barriers under the guidance of the RN
• Manages accurate clinical documentation and patient records, including order transcription, interdepartmental data integration, and seamless communication across the healthcare team

Job Requirements

Required

• Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA 
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR 
• Expanded IV Therapy Course (EIV), within 6 - months 
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP, within 6 - months
• Must be able to take on call shifts of one per week including one weekend per month

Preferred

• High School GED General Studies and Prior Experience in a Labor & Delivery Setting 
• High School Graduate General Studies and Prior Experience in a Labor & Delivery Setting 

 

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements
